2.56 लाख लोग सड़कों पर, आखिर क्यों?
मंगलवार को अधिकारियों के अनुमान के मुताबिक करीब 2.56 लाख लोगों ने फ्रांसभर में प्रदर्शन किया। अकेले पेरिस में करीब 56 हजार लोग जुटे। छात्र संगठनों ने प्रदर्शनकारियों की संख्या 4.5 लाख तक बताई।

As many as 200,000 people were expected to join a national day of action on Tuesday, with 1,800 schools due to be blockaded as teachers, trade unionists and parents join demonstrations.
Parent groups, led by the Fédération des Conseils de Parents d'Élèves, the largest federation of public school parent associations, have also called on parents to join the protests.
The Union Syndicale Lycéenne, which represents high schools, said Tuesday that the number of people mobilising had reached a “new record”.

प्रदर्शन में घायल हुए छात्र, शिक्षक और पुलिसकर्मी
हिंसा के दौरान कई लोग घायल हुए। प्रधानमंत्री सेबेस्टियन लेकोर्नू के मुताबिक अशांति में 215 छात्र और 85 शिक्षा कर्मचारी घायल हुए। कुछ घटनाओं में छात्रों को गंभीर चोटें भी आईं।

असली गुस्सा शिक्षा व्यवस्था को लेकर है
छात्र और शिक्षक खचाखच भरी कक्षाओं, शिक्षकों की कमी और संसाधनों के अभाव का विरोध कर रहे हैं। 2008 के मुकाबले शिक्षक कम हुए हैं, जबकि सेकेंडरी स्कूलों में छात्रों की संख्या करीब 2.5 लाख बढ़ी है।

सरकार की रियायत भी नहीं रोक पाई आंदोलन
सरकार ने कुछ मांगों पर रियायत देने की कोशिश की, लेकिन छात्रों का असंतोष खत्म नहीं हुआ। शिक्षा मंत्री की छात्र नेताओं से बातचीत भी किसी समझौते तक नहीं पहुंची। अब आगे भी प्रदर्शन का आह्वान किया जा रहा है।

फ्रांस का छात्र आंदोलन देश के पुराने विरोध प्रदर्शनों की याद दिला रहा है। मई 1968 में छात्रों का आंदोलन बड़े पैमाने की राष्ट्रीय हड़ताल में बदल गया था। मौजूदा छात्र भी इसे शिक्षा व्यवस्था में बदलाव की लड़ाई बता रहे हैं।
